In this video today I talk about the impact of mindset and emotions on your health, because a lot of people come to me and say “I want you to help me with my diet and I really need to change my diet” and you know they want to embrace the alkaline diet to have positive changes in their lives. They want to experience better energy, healing, or weight loss or just an all around better sense of well being.
Many people tend to look exclusively at diet and then sometimes fitness as well. Fitness and diet is the main thing. And one thing I see people neglecting far too often is mindset and emotions. Because what we think in our minds directly impacts our body. It’s kind of obvious when you think about it but a lot of people fail to consider this thing.
So for example you could be on the best diet ever, you could be a 100% alkaline eating fresh organic fruits and vegetables most of the time and you could be very very fit, but if you’re constantly in a lot of stress at work, if you’re not sleeping very well, if you’re always thinking negatively, if you have toxics relationships, if you’re not getting enough love and support, if you don’t believe in yourself, if you don’t have good self-esteem, then your health is going to be compromised. So we really need to consider this aspect of our lives, when we’re looking at the all round picture of health.
Now if you haven’t seen it, do check out my framework for optimum health and healing. It’s got 7 aspects to it which covers the 7 aspects of health because not a one-sided thing is not all about what you eat, what you drink, and whether you’re fit and active or not.
They are very vital components, but they’re not the be all and end all. So I would say you need to have a look at your whole life. Sit down and think about whether you are happy on the whole. Are you experiencing positivity on a very very regular basis? are you laughing a lot? Are you smiling? Taking things easy or is your life hectic, is it mundane? is it boring? is it stressful? Is it full of gossip or worry and negativity?
And if it is you might want to think about ways to move from that end of the spectrum to the more positive end of the spectrum. You know Albert Einstein said something really great. He says “One of the most important things you need to consider, no he says it is the most important thing for you to consider in your life.
It’s Albert Einstein, the man talks so much sense on all sorts of subjects and I love what he says about the most important choice you make in your life. It is to decide whether the world is a friendly place or an unfriendly place. So is it a good place or a bad place? And it really is a choice, he says it is a choice, it’s not an absolute, it’s not the world is a bad place, the world is a good place, it’s a choice.
Because your reality is created by your perception, nothing more. I remember a few years ago, I went to a George Michael concert and for me, I though it was fantastic. The man sang really well, I like his tunes, they were very versatile, have wonderful display of good lights and things and I really really enjoyed it plus I was with my boyfriend, we have so much fun, we laughed, the sun was shining, it was just a wonderful event. And I actually managed to get a free ticket when I was working with the health service. George Michael’s Mum died of some disease I think and so he wanted to give back a number of his tickets to the employees of the health service and I managed to get one, as did a lot with my co-workers that time.
So the next day at work we spoke about the concert and I asked, “what do you think about it?” There was such a mix of opinion. People though it was amazing like I did, some people said it was terrible, the worst 3 hours of my life and wouldn’t want to go again. A lot of people were kind of indifferent. So nothing’s an absolute, you know it’s all about perception. Your reality is your perception and perception is choice.
So here’s what I suggest to you. Start looking at things that have negative impact in your mindset. For example, watching the evening news, reading the newspaper. There’s so many things going on in the world that are positive, are wonderful and are heart-warming. But you’ll never find it in the newspapers or the evening news. They’re there to add an element of scarcity to your life, to keep people in the system, to report on negative things and you might say “well negative things sell” – only because we’ve been programmed that way.
You know, I program myself now, I look at that kind of stuff it turns me off, I don’t wanna hear about that, it’s not reality, because my reality is that life is wonderful and there are people everywhere willing to do good things and there is so much good to experience in this world. So that would be my 1st tip, if you watch the evening news or read news papers, cut down and give up. I have not read a news paper, I haven’t watch the news for about 7 years and it’s changed my life for the better. You know you won’t entertain that low vibration of gossip and moaning and complaining that most people thrive on. It will elevate you out of that and give you positive mindset. Now that’s the 1st tip.
Second tip is YouTube. You’ve got a wonderful resource in YouTube. There are so many positive things, look at positive affirmations, meditations and lectures from people like Wayne Dyer, Abraham Hicks. There are fantastic resources for finding positive affirmations and mindset tools, awesome videos, you know it really sets your day up well. I get up in the mornings and watch 20mins of some kind of positive audio program and it gives me a really good sense of well being, sets me up for the day and I feel alive to take on my work and the world around it. And so that’s my 2nd tip.
My third tip is to simplify. Simplify your life. It doesn’t have to be hectic. If your life is busy and hectic, you have no time for anything, and the kids are screaming and you haven’t got any time for yourself. That is a choice. Simplify. You don’t need to keep up with the Jones’ You don’t need to spend your money with the things everybody else is spending money on. If you simplify, you find it gives you more time, you don’t have to manage a lot of stuff, you’ll not have to constantly buy new things and engage in the rat race that everyone else is engaged in and that kind of momentum that society has as in. The consumerism. Simplify and your life will become less stressful and more positive.
