alkaline food list of fruits and vegetablesThere is many a different alkaline food list floating around on the internet on various different sites, most of which are erroneous and not easy to read or easily see what are alkaline forming foods and acidic foods.

After years of research, working in the health service and reading all of the leading books in the alkaline diet field – including Dr Robert Young’s ‘The pH Miracle’ and Christopher Vasey’s ‘The Acid Alkaline Diet for Optimum Health’ – I have come up with a comprehensive alkaline food list, that you can download and print for your reference.

Easily Follow the Alkaline Diet With Our Alkaline Food List

Here is the alkaline foods list, with neutral and acidic foods listed too. You can also download the PDF version below and save on your computer for printing. Put this list on your fridge door and take shopping, for easy reference.

For optimum health, it is recommended that your diet consists of the following proportions, although any shifts in diet towards more alkaline foods are good, no matter how small:

70% Alkaline Foods
20% Neutral/Moderately Acidic Foods
10% Acidic Foods (naughty indulgences!)

I am having a severe gout attack in my toe which has been going on for 2 weeks. I have tried several medications that don’t seem to work. I have been researching what foods to eat and avoid. I was wondering if following an alkaline diet would help?

    H Laura
I have interstitial cystitis and was prescribed a two month course of antibiotics I had to stop after developing chronic diarrhoea
Which took six week to stop. The diarrhoea is stopped but the cystitis is a problem.
Thankyou for your alkaline diet I’ve started on that.
I take bicarbonate of soda, 1000 mg vit C and potassium citrate to neutralise my urine.
What else would you recommend to take or include in my diet to ease my symptoms.
    Many thanks Laura.

How can an oil has a pH level, since there is no water content in it?

Also, Sweetcorn is alkaline and corn is acidic. How does that happen?

Hello Laura. Having just started my alkaline journey a few weeks ago there is something I am having a hard time figuring out. So many lists and books at the library and online too often they don’t give the same information in regard to the food/beverage lists. One article last night said that lemons are acidic and not to consider them alkaline. I have been drinking unsweetened coconut milk and another list said not to drink that. It is confusing…can you help?

    • Laura Rimmer (née Wilson) July 19, 2018 at 4:56 pm - Reply

      Hi Dawn,
Yes, so many lists differ don’t they. Lemons are alkaline forming, although acidic in physical form – this confuses a lot of people, even so called ‘experts’. It’s also important to realise that alkaline or acid is not the be-all-end-all, as it’s equally, if not more important to look at the quality of the food or drink – i.e. non-GMO, organic, ripe, well reared, no chemicals etc.
I’d recommend watching my free webinar training here for more detials on all of this: https://laurarimmer.kartra.com/page/5-shocking-truths-webinar
      Thanks, Laura 🙂

I need help. I have Barretts Oesophagus and been on Omeprazole for many years. I lived in a hot country and was also found to be Vit D deficient. I recently had a bad fall resulting in a fractured femur and wrist. The surgeon treating me told me I have Osteoporosis. It turns out the Omeprazole has been interfering with the absorption of calcium, a fact I’ve only just found out and sure the Vit D deficiency has contributed. The surgeon prescribed Prolia for my Osteoporosis but after reading about it I decided I cannot take any Osteoporosis drugs because of the bad side effects. I’m now living in Europe and decided a combination of an alkaline diet, supplementation with calcium citrate, Vit D3 and Vit K2 and a good exercise program is the best way forward for me. I would also like to reduce the Omeprazole I take and eventually come off it altogether. I feel I’m facing a tough battle and would appreciate any help or advice you can give me. Thank you.

Hi Gail I’ve just read your post and wanted to encourage you.
I was on very strong meds and used to be on ameprozole too. 3 years ago now. You will get off them if you do as you have said. It is tough but it is doable to, you can do it. Alkalise your body, get through the detox time of headaches and aches ect and after that you will get better. I take bicarbonate of soda day and night to alkalise the body. There is a company that sell a vitamin d 50,000 which is the highest vit d I’ve found. Distilled water is great to and then I alkalise it myself with lemons and cucumber daily, plenty of water as much as you can. If I’m honest I stopped eating and did and do fast alot. This helps and gives time for the body to work only on the deficiencies. The fast I started with was a smoothie fast especially the green ones with wheatgrass, chlorella, spirulina, apple, kale, and a seed of choice. Do what you can. Coconut water and nut milks are great as they quench hungar strikes. I detoxes my body best I could by also doing a castor oil cleanse i do these often even now, I love them, well afterwards i mean as feel like I’ve lost tons of weight from it. It clears out all excess waste. Also in doing this you will kill off any yeast infections or overgrowth and starve it out aswel as parasites as we all have them, trust me i know this as I’ve done it. Once you get through this stages taking black walnut and other bitter herbs kill fu gas and parasites whilst they are weak from food detox. You will see a massive change. I did do a hydrogen peroxide protocol cleanse first to though which is amazing, although tough still amazing but some people don’t like doing it, but i suggest you do your own researching about it to know for yourself. You will find loads of things if you just type in the truth about hydrogen peroxide on YouTube or Google, aswel as Hydrogen peroxide protocol. All the best and be good to you and go easy on yourself. I will be thinking of you! Much love and encouragement being sent your way right now.

        Hi Laura,
As I was readying through all of the comments and answers I ran across Shari’s post noting that she has hives, rash, and itching. It caught my attention because my son who is now 27 years old, started having very bad hives when he was 11. The hives were actually face deforming in the first year, and none of his doctors could ever find anything wrong with him through many tests. He still has these breakouts over his entire body quite often (although not as bad)so I am wondering if you might have any information that you can possibly send me as well to pass along to him? Thank you so much, I really appreciate your time.

I am having a major issue with reflux. No matter what I eat right now, it is painful. I have check sites for foods to eat for help with reflux and some of the foods here are on the not to eat list. Like tomatoes; they can cause reflux and say they are very acidic. I’m getting very confused on the foods. I don’t like to take meds, but I did go buy a generic OTC Zantax, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
