Green smoothies are made up of fresh chunks of fruits and vegetables blended with crushed ice, served refreshingly with a twist. These smoothies are favorable for all those who are health wise and to some who are looking for an alternative solution from all those refined sugary and dairy smoothies or even fizzy drinks that aren’t so good when it comes to your health and body.

Making up your own smoothie takes as much or as little creativity as suits you. I have checked out some other good green smoothie recipes online and I have found some that would be convenient and delicious for you to make. I will share my top 5 list of recipes for you to follow and I will provide the source links for each recipe in order for you to access the blogs or websites in which I’ve taken those. 1) Sweet Creamy Avocado Smoothie (Serves 2)

Ingredients:

• 1 large banana, sliced, frozen
• 1 large orange, peeled, sectioned
• 1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled
• 4 cups torn chard leaves, stems removed
• 2 cups cold water

Directions:

• Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree. The addition of banana gives this green smoothie sweet creaminess while the buttery avocado adds a generous dose of healthy fats.

2) Creamy coconut kale green smoothie recipe

Ingredients:

• 1 banana, sliced, frozen
• 4 cups chopped kale, stems removed
• 2 tablespoons ground flax
• 1/2 cup coconut milk

Directions:

• Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree.

3) Banana and Spinach Smoothie

Ingredients:

• Half a ripe banana
• 1 C skim milk
• Fresh baby spinach (Pack in as much as you want! I use 2 huge handfuls)

Directions:

• Just toss it all in the blender with a couple ice cubes

4) Parsley, Kale, and Berry Smoothie

Ingredients:

• ½ cup (packed) flat-leaf parsley (leaves and stems)
• 4 kale leaves (center ribs removed)
• 1 cup frozen organic berries (such as strawberries or rasperiies)
• 1 banana (cut into pieces)
• 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed

Directions:

• Puree ingredients with 1 cup water in a blender until smooth (add water if too thick)

5) Super Green Vibrant Cucumber Apple and Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:

• 1 small cucumber
• handful of spinach
• 1 apple, cored
• 1 TBSP minced ginger
• freshly squeezed juice of 1 lime
• 1 TBSP honey/agave/maple syrup
• 1 cup water
• optional (for non vegans): raw bee pollen

Directions:

• Partly peel the cucumber (remove about 60% of the peel).
• Chuck all ingredients to the blender (except bee pollen) and let it work its magic.
• Blend until desired consistency.
• Taste and add more honey/agave/maple syrup if needed.
• If using, sprinkle bee pollen on top and serve.
