Laura, I had a big open sore in the middle of my tongue for about 4 years now (suffering from Collagenous Colitis for 4 years) and could hardly taste any food I ate. Since I have been alkalizing, it is disappearing and is only a small little mark now! How do I thank you for your wonderful work? THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Thanks for emailing the link to this video Laura I am looking forward to the next one I am going to get a copy of your book and will start tomorrow with the water I have done some research on the alkaline foods and I am just wondering if it is possible to raise your body’s ph too high Too much alkalinity must be just as bad as too much acidity ?

Excellent video Laura, thanks for the work you do. The alkaline diet makes a lot of sense now I understand it. I thought it was a scam until I looked into it a bit more – I guess that’s part of the diet hype right??
How much raw food would you recommend to eat every day?

    Hi Laura,
You really make it appear so easy together with your presentation on the alkaline diet but I to find this matter to be actually one thing that I think I might by no means understand.
It sort of feels too complicated and very large for me with all the foods but I’d like to learn more from your videos and book.
I’m having a look ahead to your next submit, I’ll attempt
to get the hang of it!

Implemented and tested lots of different approaches to diet. Studied the excellent results that the alkaline diet has had with people who are severely ill and I am now in the midst of writing my second book on the topic – to be released later this year

    Hi Laura,

I’m so grateful to have found your site and the information you provide regarding the Akaline diet. In recently learning about the importance of the akaline diet, I lost some weight, but switched to the akaline diet by juicing. I noticed however, that you’re blending as oppose to juicing and it doesn’t seem like so much food waste. I assume blending is much better than juicing as I would think you’re not losing so much nutrients. True?

I’m diagnosed with pre-diabetics and want to control my glucose without resulting to medication, this being the reason for the akaline diet. Do you have any specific recipes that would help more rapidly in this area than others, as well as for diet lost. I’ve lost 14 pounds this past month and my goal is to lose another 60-80 pounds…so I do have a ways to go.

Again, thank you for your information. I am already extremely concious of what I eat and going to the grocery stores, it’s easier than ever….I generally only need to shop on the outer aisle, as the inner isles are generally all carbs! I already feel so much better and am excited to continue this process and seeing the results!!!!! THANK YOU

Please advise me. I have type two diabetes on medications and insulin, cholesterol and clogged arteries. Will eating mostly alkaline foods improve the diabetes and clear the arteries? If it can, realistically I know it will take time. In your experience with your clients how many months or years will it take to see results, especially the clogged arteries as this has affected my legs? Sorry to bother you with these questions but I just need a little hope that I have at last found the solution. Thankyou! Lisa

      Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your question. I’m sure you’ll appreciate, I cannot give nay definite time frames here and I am not a medical doctor. But I can say from my experience and from feedback form my clients and subscribers that within a few weeks sometimes of following an alkaline diet system, such as my Alkaline Diet Vitality 10-week plan, it has made a positive difference.
      Hope this helps

Thanks for the inspiring web site and videos! I’m turning 32,next week. I thought this would be a goal to work on.
This will be an extremely difficult transition. i’m not overweight, but have gastritis and acid reflux. My largest obstacle is overcoming a coffee addiction,i normally can go up to a week and then cave,I also love FOOD!,especially italian, but im not a big meat eater. I drink tons of water already,so I do have that in that bag. Its quite depressing because I plan to go to culinary school, and I had planned on specializing in Italian/Greek food. I guess I will have to challenge myself. 🙂

    Hi Laura

Thanks for the excellent recipes. I’ve been trying to eat mainly raw plants
etc to reverse diabetes 2 (got off insulin and stopped taking other meds for
it) but after trialling and erroring various supplements, superfoods,
alkaline, raw for about 2 years and falling off the wagon due to extensive
travelling overseas including Asia, I’m back home in Adelaide, South
Australia back to square 1! Anyway, finding your website has just motivated
me to get serious again and already notice my blood sugar readings are lower
    than usual……..

    Cheers……….Anne:

    Laura,
I’m totally new to the alkaline diet thing. After 6 months of incredible stomach/esophageal problems, and 3 months of doctoring, a friend suggested the diet and some supplements to try and find relief. After just 2-3 weeks on a strict alkaline diet and taking a regimen of supplements, my stomach and severe GERD symptoms are already much better.
I haven’t had much time to try any of the recipes yet, but thank you anyway for the great resource.

Thanks very much for your feedback and I am glad you are getting better.

This diet sounds like the answer to all my long term problems. I have found by trial an error that my health improves greatly by cutting out dairy completely from my diet and eating lots of fruit and vegetables….though I have not thought so much about the high sugar content in some fruits. I have tried so many diets over the years that I am always sceptical about being able to “stick to” any diet. Most of the foods in supermarkets in the western world are unhealthy in my opinion…and I wonder if the foods in this diet are easy to find and the recipes easy to follow and to prepare with a busy lifestyle such as mine…
I look forward to finding out more information..but I intend to start with the increase in water today!!

    Dear Laura,
I have begun drinking alkaline water & as a miracle my acidity problem is diminished…I thought I will start with alkaline water, adding a pinch of baking soda, as I have had severe acidity.

As a common sense, thought of knowing some alkaline foods and so bumped into you and your site…
i had been always thinking i should have an alkaline diet, but then never knew what are alkaline foods.

In India we hardly get the ingredients mentioned in ur recipe book,
whit i gather is , i must eat more of carrot-tomato-apples, green vegetables etc.

Thanks. i have seen your videos, they are good & informative, if they have some pictures, names of many foods are different in english, a picture can help know it..
    regards,
    Neelkanti

      Hi Neelu,

Ahh, great to hear your acidity problems are diminishing! Yes, adding a small amount of bicarbonate of soda to your drinking water is a good place to start. And yes, green veg and tomatoes etc are alkaline (download the free foods list if you haven’t already) Well done 🙂

Ok, I’ll try and include some pictures too. I am producing a video demonstration of one of my recipes currently, so keep an eye out for that one – good visual representation of how to make the recipes.

Cheers and wishing you continued improvements to your health,

    Hi Laura,
I have to admit very insightful video. Alkaline diets and food is pretty new for me and for my family. Although I got some of the pointers directly from dr. Robert Young, but not very much about food and receipes for alkaline foods. In full honesty I got his book but not very much receipes except “avokados on 1000 different ways” 🙂
Do not take me wrong, I like the his enthusiasm, but what really missing is variaty of alkaline food receipies.
I would like you to include me in your newsletter and email list with all current updates and videos.
Again very nice work on video presentation

Firstly. I eat mainly chicken breasts done in all sorts of forms from grilled to curried stew or a chili tomato base. Fat free cottage cheese on rice cakes with honey. Roast veges grilled potatoes, baked potatoes and occasionally fried potatoes with salad. 1 x per month piece of lean steak with salad or vege. Eat a lot of fish – grilled mostly and fried occasionally, with a saffron rice with mushroom, corn kernels and red peppers. Also a typical South African dish, mielie pap (translated) corn meal stiff porridge – thicker constancy than porridge, eat using fingers and dip into a tomato, onion, mushroom and chili sauce. Sushi (all salmon) and salmon Sashimi is my favorite.
I know that cooked tomatoes are acidic but this is a once to twice a month treat. I love all fruit. Stay away from fruits high in histamine though. Have allergic Asthma. What do you suggest I do or change.
Secondly, which band do you front? I am also a professional musician.

    • Laura December 24, 2010 at 1:03 am - Reply

Most of this is quite acidic Alan – meat and dairy definitely. Fish is good, cooked tomatoes (grilled) are fine, although raw is better nutritionally. Fruit is mildly acidic but much netter than fried and cooked starchy and meaty foods. Roast veg are great 🙂

I’d suggest incorporatig a few more salads, sprouted seeds and lightly steamed veg and brown rice, making a sauce from lemon juice ad balsamic vinegar and a good quality (non-cooked) oil, such as Udo’s Choice blend. Also frying with coconut oil would be good switch as it doesn’t turn into dangerous hydrogenated fat when heated, as it’s a saturated molecule – in short, much healthier 🙂

I am lead singer in pop/rock covers band called ‘Seeker’. What do you do musically?

Great video Laura. Thanks for sharing. Keen to find out more.
I smoked 40 a day, drank a dozen beers a day and a half a bottle of whiskey a day. Haven’t done that for 34 years now. However, I have a sweet tooth and generally love all the foods that I shouldn’t. Have been on a host of diets. Lost 21 Kg and then put on 22 again.
A year ago the Dr. told me that I had a blocked artery and that I need to cut out saturated fats, and walk for 40 minutes a day. I decided to cut out processed foods and sugar too.
I have always drunk a lot of water. I walk for 90 minutes a day. Taken my cholesterol from 8 to 4.7. Lost 15 Kg. and feel a lot better for it. I am keen to hear your ideas and will incorporate what makes sense into my diet.

    • Laura December 24, 2010 at 12:56 am - Reply

Woah! That is a heavy diet Alan! 40 cigs and HALF a bottle of Whiskey a day?! lol. Good for you Al for giving it up and sticking with it. Well done on the water and reducing your cholesterol and weight too 🙂 Often it takes a dire state to move us to action, right? Hmm, yes being a sweet tooth is a difficult one – I’m the same. I’m gonna give recipe for a lovely and delicious green smoothie (yes, green, but it’s nice…and sweet…and alkaline 🙂 ) in video 3 so keep an eye out for that.

      Hi Carrie,
Thank you 🙂 This is a question that I get asked a lot, about fruits. Some fruits are alkaline – lemons, limes, grapefruits and also avocados and tomatoes (although more veg-like). I’ll explain this more in my next videos.
Glad you are enjoying the recipe book.
