Milk, is a funny substance. Milk is the white liquid produced by the breast of mammals for the new born offspringwhich contains a lot of nutrients for their growing bodies to absorb.

The funny thing is that we humans also drink milk from other animals such as cows and goats; strange when you think about it. The most popular milk that we consume right now is the cow’s milk, which is promoted to containhigh levels of calcium and protein for the body.

But then again there is the other side of the story. What is not widely known is that cow’s milk can also be harmful for the body since it contains 59 active hormones, scores of allergens, saturated fat, cholesterol and casein, which we cannot easily break down. Also what the cows eat, in effect we eat and not all cows are eating nice, nutrient-rich green grass – far from it. They often eat feed full of dead and sick animals and bones, genetically modified grains and other low quality and harmful cheap ‘food’.

Another type of milk that us humans consume is dairy products, like butter, cream, cheese, yogurt and also powdered milk. These types of milks have been processed and have undergone a lot of other methods and extractions.

Cheese is in everything these days, everything unhealthy anyhow – pizzas, pasta dishes, lasagna, burgers. If you’re a vegetarian, it’s hard to find anything on restaurant menus that doesn’t contain cheese. People LOVE cheese and ice cream and milk products. But are they good for you? And why are they liked so much?

In short, NO, milk products are NOT good for you, at all. These products are harmful since they already contain a lot of other substances like refined and saturated fats that can cause heart and lung diseases and especially DIABETES.

Worryingly and not widely know at all, the caseins in milk release opiate in our brain when eaten, which accounts for why people love cheese and milk…because they are ADDICTIVE.

Let’s talk more about caseins. Caseins are the primary group of proteins found in your milk. This type of protein has amino-acid compositions that are basically intended for the development of the young CALF (not humans) and are not readily broken down by our bodies and are highly acidifying to us. The irony is that, rather than building our bones stronger, milk products cause bone loss, as we need to leech alkaline minerals from the bones to neutralize the acid that drinking milk causes in our bodies.

Kidney damage is one of the lethal effects of casein protein if you do not have normal functioning kidneys. Studies have shown that even 20% of casein protein can cause renal insufficiency. Other than that it can trigger milk allergies too. But this may vary, not all individuals are allergic to milk protein.


In addition, did you know that cows have IGF-1 in their system? IGF-1 is a hormone that helps some types of the cow’s cells to grow. This hormone is present when cows have been rBGH (Recombinant bovine growth hormone) treated. This hormone is basically man-made and has been marketed to dairy farmers to help their cows in milk production. Additionally, some studies have shown that adults who drink milk have 10% higher levels of IGF-1 in their blood compare to those who drink milk or do not drink milk at all. Whilst it’s not 100% clear what the specific effects of this hormone are on humans, some scientists have shown research that IGIF-1 might trigger the risk of cancer and other major health issues.

We need calcium and other nutrients, but the best source is from leafy greens such as spinach, kale, broccoli, watercress etc. They have high calcium concentrations and other vitamins and minerals that are good for you too. Don’t let your body have too much milk – dairy products can literally ruin your body. Why not aim to eliminate dairy from your diet over the next few months?
